I'm a movie!

Ummmm I don't know what to think about this. I do have this huge deep desire to be on Broadway or travel the globe as a speaker. Who knows if that's reality. What do you guys think?

Dead week... or is it?

Yes, 2 days until dead week, and here I am at the end of my sophomore year. It's so hard not to blow this all off because my heart is transitioning out of this semester. For all of you who could care less about the final weeks ahead, here's a reminder of a phrase I find myself saying a lot: Never give up. Never surrender.
Take it to heart. I'll see you all on the other side.

Top Five

Well, here's my top five from the weekend of Fiesta
1. Belting out love songs and taking teeny bopper magazine quizzes like "What flirting style are you?" in the car with Allison
2. getting 33 trucks to honk at us on the highway. (Yes, I even cranked my arm out the window with raindrops hitting my arm at 80 miles an hour... ouch!)
3. our ghetto sound systen consisting of a huge boom box and a car adaptor thanks to the Powell's car's CD player/radio not working. Hey, desperate times call for desperate measures.
4. Yelling BOOMER SOONER the entire time the Longhorn band was marching in front of us at the parade(Initiated by Kels). Good times and good stares from the 80000 Texas fans around us.
5. Cascarones.
6. Oh yeah, and hearing *cough* someone say "Just flash us if you need us to pull over." (Meaning, flash your brights.) Am I going to get rebuked for having this on here?

Pictures soon to come! Viva La Mexico!

Fiesta!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Well, today at approximately 3 p.m. I will be headed out to San Antonio for Fiesta! The Mexican Hat Dance is already in my head. Get ready for pinatas and parades and tons of tortillas (wow, I totally didn't mean for that alliteration to happen... it just came out!) Peace out! Yo corazon tu (I heart you).

That's my King!

Some of you may remember this.

Aicha

"She move she move like a breeze. I swear I can't get her out of my dreams..."
OK, this guy has some great moves. I actually can't decide if he's for real or if this is a really great joke. Check it out yourself.....

Marriage

Here's a picture of her beautiful ring. Nice carats!

Who can get away with this?

I really enjoy 91 FM playing new and fun Christian songs for all believers to enjoy. Lately I've had the priveledge (sp?) of attuning my ears to the delightful group Supertropolis.
I first heard this group thinking they were 50 Cent on a Christian station, but after listening to the lyrics, the In Da Club was really Out Da Club. This uplifting tune speaks of the hard life of the inner city Christian "converting thugs" and bringing them, well, out da club. For a few months I've had the distinct pleasure of listening to this group blossom out of the hard ranks of Christian rap as we know it, as they remake all different sorts of secular rap songs of today.
My new favorite is a rendition of the ever-so-popular "Drop it Like It's Hot" by the acclaimed Snoop. But no, no, "Supertrop" converts (cheesy laugh) this catchy tune for the born again to be encouraged. Such inspiring lyrics include, "I'm a Christ dude, doing Christ things...." and "When da sin try to get at you stop it on the spot, stop it on the spot, stop it on the spot. When you fi'n da get da attitude, drop it on the spot...." and my personal favorite, "I've got the Holy on my arm and my Father named God and this love is like Jesus I got it goin on."

More groups like this need to come on the scene to inspire the Saints with the oh-so-difficult task of rewriting lyrics to popular songs so that we'll listen to them. Supertropolis redefines the word "original."

To my dear sister, Amy

Amy reems me for never updating. However, she has no basis for her pleas because I have updated. Blogspot is always a huge bucket of ghetto every time I try to blog, because I'll write a magnificent piece of work and click on "Publish Post" and the infamous "page cannot be displayed" appears. Almost every time I tried to publish last night (yes, I rewrote one 3 times.... it was that good) that stupid page would come up, and my blog would be lost forever.
So, Amy Liz, sorry if I can't control the world wide web. I've tried. That's all I can do.
I'll be really surprised if I can publish this. Pray "page cannot be displayed" doesn't show up....

Delteeted

OK I'm really tempted to delete Cacey Wells' link from the list on your right because if you click on it you too can see that he hasn't updated since November 23rd. Cacey, if you read this, I'm sorry. It had to be done.
Ariel
You are adventurous Ariel! You are a passionate
person who is interested in seeing all the
places of the world. You want nothing more than
the freedom to explore the great wonders around
you!!!

Yes, I took this quiz. I related to Ariel a lot when I was younger... I liked to swim, I thought Eric was hot, and my dad had a huge pitchfork and a long beard. I appreciate how Holly on her blog thought guys should take this to find a spring banquet date. Haha. Always the matchmaker, Holly, always..... Anyways, you boys should definitely base your BSU Prom date on who matches up to a fairy tale princess.... uh.. and also who is godly.

How can you deny Eric's hotness? He's even got a cool "Man's best friend" dog thing.

Intelligence booster

K, so for those of you who hate writing papers for classes or think that there's nothing you could get worse at, here's a little somethin to lift your spirits. This paper was written by some kid named Jeremy, and let me tell you, he knows his stuff. Read the following paper and you'll be intrigued by the mysticism that is the mind of this Jeremy fellow... or you'll laugh because you know that nothing you could ever write could compare to this piece of work. Enjoy. (Oh the stuff in the parentheses is what the teacher commented after grading it. Poor thing.)

Coming in like El Nino!
Jeremy Lavine
Period 3
El Nino is spanish. It is the spanish word for child. Like all things spanish, it is dangerous. It kills people and burns down trees. This child is more than a child. It really isn't a child at all. It is a storm. A deadly storm that kills people and burns down trees.
Warm water usually builds up around australia. But not anymore with el nino. El Nino moves the warm water from australia to somewhere else, namely to other places. Where are these other places? These are places that also have water, but water that is usually not as warm as the warm water El Nino moves to these said other places. These other places are to the east. Of the water.
In Peru, they have many names for many things. One of the things they have names for is for people who go fishing, go fishing to make a living. If we had a word for this kind of people that word would be "fisherman". But we don't. In Peru, they have different names for things than we do in America. They call that kind of people "pescadores". That's Spanish. That's what they speak in Peru. When El Nino comes, these "pescadores" can't catch any fish. El Nino is caused when the Peruvian gods get angry. They have been angry for millions of years and have made El Nino for millions of years. Many many moons ago, the Peruvians committeed human sacrifice to satiate their gods and end the flood that was caused by El Nino. In today's modern dog-eat-dog work-a-day world of scientists, diplomats, McSalad Shakers, and George Bush Jr., we no longer have access to such solutions. We are too proud. We will not commit human sacrifices. We refuse to satiate the Peruvian gods. Thus, they remain angry and keep killing us and burning down our trees with El Nino.
Instead of satiating the gods, many of these "scientists" have tried to control El Nino with "science". They put up expensive fish-attracting bueys that run on flashlight batteries. Imagine, fighting the power of the gods with flashlight batteries! Needless to say, this didn't work and everyone died.
(Jeremy Please a little less drama!)

Check out the actual paper here.

I heart Bunnies

Hehe... I got this website from Amy. Check out the other ones, but http://angryalien.com/0604/titanicbunnies.html is my favorite!
I might actually update for reals soon. Later!

I am the dancing queen!

I have a song in my head. Some of you know why. As I sit here in my room at 1:30 in the morning trying to write a paper, all I can think of are the dance moves we coreographed to this.
It's like when you play a video game or Snood right before you go to sleep and all you can think of is little Mario/Luigi or a Snood face zooming around all over the screen with the soundtrack tweedling loudly. And you can't fall asleep. Hours and hours go by without a hope of drowning out the cartoony images in your head. It'll be an interesting night.
In other news, the girls Bible study went out on some floors in Walker to collect spare change for Must Trust. We have about $5000 left to raise. Well these girls spent 20 minutes on just a couple of floors and came back with a little over $200. I'm so impressed not only by their faithfulness but by God's grace and provision in great and astounding ways.
Peace!

What breed of dog are you?

I used to be a pug! That's interesting.
Jenny, you're a Golden Retriever!

No bones about it, you're a popular, fun-loving Golden Retriever. Adored by all and too cool for school, you're extroverted and enthusiastic. Your magnetic personality makes you the life of any bash. Since you're a true people-dog, you genuinely love all kinds of social gatherings. Going to parties, dinners, and other shindigs is the best way to add faces to your constantly growing circle of friends. But besides being on the social A-list, you're a confident, well-rounded pup who's definitely something to bark about. Pretty accomplished at anything you set your mind to, your sunny nature and winning ways make you one of everyone's favorite dogs. Woof!

Trying to fall asleep

Last night I couldn't fall asleep, which is very odd for me. I kept thiking about next year and how different it's going to be. Change is good. There shouldn't be worry because our God doesn't change- He stays the same.
I don't like the term 'strong Christian.' I want to be a weak one so Christ can be strong for me. 2 Cor 12:9, 10.

.

I don't even know what to think about this. I don't want to be a feminazi but this is pretty crazy. I know we should honor and serve our husbands, but is this really to the extreme? Back in the day why did that seem right and now it seems "wrong" or "old-fashioned" or "ridiculous" or whatever? Maybe my views as a woman of this age make me think an article like this is completely backward.
I just can't get past things like "His topic of conversation are more important than yours" or "A good wife knows her place." God created us equal and complementary to men (with different roles, have you), not inferior like this sounds. Maybe it's just me. What do you guys think?
Oh yeah, I stole this from Amy's xanga. She totally needs to switch to blogspot. Everyone click on her link and persuade her to cross over to the Blog.

Crossing Over

Yes, I did it. Xanga is so out and here I am with my BLOG. I'll try to make it as cool as Holly's.. where people frequent and relate to her thoughts or weird pictures. But Holly's too cool for competition.
All right. Later haters!
