This weekend was spent in the grand city of Moore, where a couple hundred college students including myself gathered to hear about how we could "blur the lines between faith and life" at the 2005 Elevate conference. Speakers like David Nasser and Strapp were there to challenge our faith and pursue the passion God's called us to. Man, God is so strategic! He completely cleared up some things about the life He's given me and encouraged me to step out in faith to follow Him with my major and "job" later in life. Wow. I wasn't even going to go, but the "OU BSU Vespers Band" (because we have yet to come up with a cool name besides 'Beck and the Beckettes' we have been called this for some time... if you have any suggestions about our name, please don't hesitate to comment) was invited to play in this sort of Coffee House deal one night and then I decided it was something I should go to. Anyhoo, I'll spare you the details and instead chronicle the events with pictures, which is all I like to do on this blog anyway.
Ahhh.... the musicians. Here we are practicing for our first ever out-of-Vespers "gig." I'm proud of my boys *grandma voice*

Ok so they sent us girls to go get food and we eventually found ourselves at Taco Smell ordering 32 tacos and 6 large drinks. There's our total:
(I think what's sadder than that gargantuan amount of money spent on Mexican food was the fact that there are atleast 19891 Taco Bell stores....)

(we didn't all really put plates over our faces... this picture just sort of freaks me out, so naturally I had to blog it...)

And that was Elevate in a nutshell. Could you ask more from a conference? I think not.

I love it! You know, I once tried using the German word: 'Badzimmer' since we use 'bathroom' in America...noe, didn't work. It is good to learn these cultural differences, who would have thought there was so much difference between Moore and Norman concerning what you call at toilet? Peace, and Boomer Sooner!
